Decision Superiority & Hart Intelligence

Hart Intelligence & Decision Superiority operates as a unified multi-site WordPress platform serving two distinct but complementary purposes: Hart Intelligence delivers specialised intelligence training for public sector organisations through courses in conflict management, open-source intelligence and interrogation techniques, while Decision Superiority publishes strategic insights and case studies exploring decision-making principles and intelligence methodologies.

The multi-site architecture allows both properties to maintain complete visual and editorial independence, from branding to content strategy to user journeys, while consolidating infrastructure, security and GDPR compliance into a single, efficiently managed system. Rather than building separate WordPress installations or forcing both businesses into a monolithic site, the multi-site approach provides the cost efficiency and maintenance simplicity of consolidation with the strategic flexibility each business requires to serve its distinct audience.

Hart Intelligence & Decision Superiority: A Multi-Site WordPress Platform for Specialised Intelligence Services

Hart Intelligence operates two distinct but interconnected websites serving different audiences within the intelligence and training sector. Hart Intelligence (hart-intelligence.co.uk) functions as the primary services portal, offering specialised training and consulting delivered by former military intelligence officers. Decision Superiority (decision-superiority.co.uk) operates as the strategic insights platform, publishing case studies and thought leadership on decision-making, intelligence methodologies and operational principles.

Rather than building separate WordPress installations, we implemented a WordPress multi-site architecture that allows each domain to operate with complete visual and editorial independence while sharing infrastructure, security protocols, backup systems and GDPR compliance mechanisms.

Two distinct brands. Two audiences. One flexible WordPress platform.

Hart Intelligence and Decision Superiority required separate online experiences to support their different audiences, content strategies and business objectives. Hart Intelligence focuses on specialist training and consultancy, while Decision Superiority provides strategic insights, intelligence reports and military case studies.

TekCreative developed a WordPress multisite solution that brings both websites together under one technical infrastructure while preserving their individual identities, content structures and user journeys.

The result is a maintainable platform that supports two complementary brands without compromising their independence.

The Challenge: Two Brands, Different Objectives

Although Hart Intelligence and Decision Superiority share a strategic relationship, their websites serve different purposes.

Hart Intelligence provides practical, intelligence-led training for public sector and government organisations. Its courses cover conflict management, personal security, open-source intelligence (OSINT), digital self-defence, debriefing and questioning techniques. The website needs to communicate expertise, present upcoming training opportunities and make it easy for organisations to enquire about tailored programmes.

Decision Superiority is an educational platform focused on intelligence, critical thinking and strategic decision-making. Its content includes detailed military case studies, monthly intelligence reports and practical lessons that apply to business and leadership.

The technical challenge was to support these distinct requirements without creating unnecessary infrastructure, duplicating maintenance work or forcing both brands into the same design and content structure.

The Solution: WordPress Multisite Architecture

TekCreative implemented a WordPress multisite network, allowing both websites to operate independently while sharing a common technical foundation.

Rather than maintaining two separate WordPress installations, the multisite architecture provides centralised platform management alongside individual site configurations.

Each website has its own visual identity, content hierarchy and publishing workflow. Shared infrastructure simplifies maintenance, while separate site-level settings allow each brand to evolve according to its own requirements.

Distinct Design and Brand Identity

Both websites have their own visual direction, reflecting their respective audiences and objectives.

Hart Intelligence uses a professional, authoritative presentation suited to specialist training and consultancy. Decision Superiority adopts a darker, strategic aesthetic that supports its focus on intelligence, research and analytical content.

Their branding, typography, colour schemes, imagery and page layouts remain distinct. Visitors experience two purpose-built websites rather than variations of a single generic template.

Content Management Built Around Each Audience

The multisite structure supports different content models and publishing priorities.

Hart Intelligence focuses on training programmes, course descriptions, seminar dates and service enquiries. Its user journeys guide visitors towards relevant training opportunities and contact forms.

Decision Superiority prioritises long-form case studies, intelligence reports and educational articles. Its structure encourages readers to explore strategic concepts, understand their practical applications and engage with further research.

This separation keeps each website focused while allowing both to be managed through a familiar WordPress administration environment.

A Connected Content Strategy

The two websites also support each other’s wider objectives.

Decision Superiority publishes strategic insights sponsored by Hart Intelligence, helping demonstrate the thinking and methodology behind the training and consultancy services.

This creates a natural connection between practical training and thought leadership. Visitors can discover the educational content behind the expertise, while readers can explore the organisation responsible for supporting it.

GDPR and Cookie Consent

Privacy and consent management were incorporated into the websites rather than treated as an afterthought.

The implementation uses a cookie consent solution to give visitors control over non-essential cookies and tracking technologies. Consent preferences are retained, and third-party scripts are configured according to the applicable consent choices.

Both websites provide access to their privacy policies, cookie policies and terms and conditions through their footers.

The consent configuration is managed consistently across the multisite environment, reducing duplication and helping maintain a coherent approach to privacy management.

Technical Implementation: Centralised and Maintainable

The shared WordPress multisite architecture provides a common foundation for both websites while keeping their content and presentation separate.

Core platform maintenance, compatible plugin updates and security patching can be coordinated centrally. Shared infrastructure also simplifies backup planning and reduces the need to maintain duplicate installations.

Each site retains its own content and configuration, allowing the businesses to manage their publishing activities independently.

The approach provides several practical benefits:

  • Simplified maintenance: Centralised platform management reduces duplicated administration.
  • Consistent security management: Shared core updates and maintenance processes help keep both websites aligned.
  • Independent content management: Each brand controls its own pages, editorial priorities and publishing schedule.
  • Reduced infrastructure duplication: Both websites use a common technical foundation instead of separate installations.
  • Room to grow: Each website can develop its content and user experience without requiring a separate platform.

Why WordPress Multisite Was the Right Choice

The architecture was selected to balance operational efficiency with brand independence.

Separate WordPress installations would have required duplicated core maintenance, infrastructure management and backup processes. A conventional single-site structure, on the other hand, would have made it harder to maintain the separation needed between the brands’ navigation, content and user journeys.

WordPress multisite provides a practical middle ground.

It centralises the underlying platform while allowing Hart Intelligence and Decision Superiority to function as distinct digital properties. This makes the solution particularly suitable for organisations managing multiple related brands, publications or service websites.

The Outcome

The project established a shared technical platform for two complementary brands with different audiences and objectives.

Hart Intelligence has a dedicated online presence for its training and consultancy services. Decision Superiority has its own space for strategic analysis, intelligence reporting and educational content.

Behind both websites, the multisite architecture provides a consistent foundation for maintenance, security management and future development.

The result is a flexible WordPress solution that combines the efficiency of shared infrastructure with the freedom to build and manage distinct online experiences.
